Make a New Year Tiara for your Doll

The New Year is almost here! It is quick and easy to make a New Year Tiara for your doll from just a few simple craft supplies. After all, your dolls will want to join in on the fun too!
This AG doll craft is a great one for kids to make on their own, especially if you use white glue instead of the glue gun. If you opt for using a glue gun, which speeds things up a bit, then there will need to be adult supervision.

Materials needed to make a New Year Tiara for your doll

• 2 – 12 inch Pipe Cleaners (I used white, but it would be even better to match the pipe cleaner to the color of your beads.)
• Mini Pony Beads in the color(s) of your choice.  (I used yellow for the numbers and orange for the band.)
• Glue Gun or white glue

Instructions to make a New Year Tiara for your doll
You are going to start with 1 pipe cleaner and bend it into the shapes of the number for the year.

Form the shape for the number “2″.  You want each number to be about 1 inch to 1 1/4 inches tall.  Add glue to the end of the “2″ and slide a bead to the end.  This will secure it in place.  Then finish adding yellow pony beads to the rest of the “2″.  The pipe cleaners are sturdy enough that kids should be able to slide the beads on easily.

Next add about 12 beads and then bend into a loop to form the “0″. Twist at the base to secure the number.

Add three more mini pony beads then bend the pipe cleaner to form a “1″.  You are going to add the beads to the “1″ from the top so squish both layers of the “1″ together to make it easier to thread the beads. Add glue to the top of the pipe cleaner before adding the last bead to secure it.

Then form your “3″ and bead it.  Secure the last bead with glue to ensure it doesn’t fall off.

Take another pipe cleaner and bend the end around the bottom bend in the “2″.


Start adding orange mini pony beads, sliding them up over the doubled over pipe cleaner.  You will want to add 60 orange beads in all.

After you have all 60 beads on the pipe cleaner, secure around the bottom bend in the “3″. Twist to secure and tuck the end back into the orange beads.  You can add some glue to secure it.

The pipe cleaners are easily shaped to fit your dolls head.  If you used white glue instead of a glue gun, set it aside to allow it to dry completely before you try it on your doll.

And you are all done!  See I told you it would be easy!
